Saci
Saci is a Brazilian folk creature with interesting origins and variations. Mixing elements of indigenous, european and african mythologies, it's a genuinely brazilian legend! I've tried to express this combination in this painting
There are many variations, but in short Saci is a small, black and one-legged being. He smokes a pipe and wears a red cap that gives him magic powers. He is a bit mischievous and has the ability to cause swirls. In some versions he is knowledgeable about plants, especially medicinal ones, and also guards them.
